‘O believers! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire….’ (Al Quran, 66:6)
This verse addresses the general body of Muslims (Ummah!). When this verse was revealed, Umar (RA) inquired: “O Messenger of Allah, we understand how to save ourselves from Hell, that is, we guard ourselves against sins and carry out the Divine injunctions, but how do we safeguard our families from Hell?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied: “Instruct them to refrain from deeds that Allah has prohibited, and ask them to carry out deeds that Allah has enjoined. This will rescue them from the Hell-Fire.” [ Ruh-ul-Ma’ ani ]
What’s new?
Nabbi ﷺ Teaching!
The Prophetic ﷺ teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief (Eman/Akidah) that education should be spanned the breadth of human existence, encompassing facets of life, work, co-existence, and human relations, rendering them universally applicable across time and space.
As both Allah’s messenger ﷺ and an exemplar for individual Muslims, he assumed a dual role. To present him as a paragon in every aspect of life, Muslims are encouraged to delve into the methods he employed for teaching and learning and to thoroughly delve into his Sunnah-his practices and traditions. This approach not only cultivates a comprehensive understanding of his life but also allows for the extraction of profound and invaluable lessons from it.
A true follower of the Prophet ﷺ should aim to live under his teachings and emulate his way of life. There should be no divide between theoretical knowledge and its practical application, and the transition from revelation to reason should be seamless. Consequently, the pedagogical methods employed by him are deserving of a thorough revisit, comprehension, and implementation by particularly by Muslim educators.
Nevertheless, the pervasive influence of Islamophobic education system in the Muslim world and the compartmentalization of religious knowledge from other fields such as arts, social sciences, and sciences have hindered Muslim educators from studying the Prophet ﷺ to gain insights into his pedagogical methods for teaching and learning.
His actions embodied his commitment to fulfilling the command of Allah SWT, actively engaging with his community, and emphasizing the importance of embracing the message of monotheism (Tauhid) as the cornerstone of their relationship with him and, more importantly, with Allah SWT.
Our teaching approach is aimed at growing the whole person, helping each student to develop their akhlaq and to live a virtuous and fulfilling life modelled around the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is our duty to support each individual in achieving their full potential, and as part of our commitment to the Ummah, we are devoted to the success of each and every student.
Why do you need new schooling?
Myth vs Reality!
- Despite growing expansion of Islamic schools throughout the country, the ‘mission’ of most of the international Islamic schools in Bangladesh is not clear enough.
- Copying Islamic curriculum might not be necessarily a good fit without ‘mission-based’ research-led customization and localization.
- Investment for curriculum development & staff training (Basic/TOT) is minimum or zero.
- The affluent families (rich & urban upper middle-class) are the main clientele of the popular faith-based schools but mostly fond of short/elementary Islamic education/Hifj for the limited time and short-time outcome.
- Teaching and campus atmosphere become ornamental in absence of the planned social and behavior change communication
- Schools are frequently compromised with populist & non-Islamic trend and traits.
- Islamic education is largely stigmatized and victim of Islamophobia and cultural hegemony.
- Quality Islamic education is also expensive.
