His profound outlook in reconceptualizing of the Umma and Ummatic action through education and research has molded the Kulliyyah’s discourse.
Dr. Meer Monjur Mahmood is a well-accomplished academician, researcher and social activist of intellectual domain in Bangladesh. He has been serving different state and non-state organizations at different capacities to envision a better society. With over more than 25 years of activism, he is a widely accepted scholar to the different schools of thought. Currently, he is holding a senior portfolio at National University, Bangladesh (https://www.nu.ac.bd) along with other engagement with different media, social and academic institutions in Bangladesh, Australia, Germany, Türkiye, Belgium, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Spain, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nepal and India. His area of expertise includes Quran and Sunnah Studies, Faith Schooling, Family, Parenting, Intra and Interfaith Social Cohesion, Human Rights, Civic and Youth Engagement, Capacity and Network Building. He regularly teaches and provides mentorship for the all age groups in formal and informal settings.
He obtained Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) followed by Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil.) from the Department of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies, Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh (https://www.iu.ac.bd). He holds bachelor and post-graduate degrees in Theology and Islamic Studies from the same university. He taught at Manarat International University, South-East University, International Islamic University Chittagong and Asian University of Bangladesh. He managed Diploma of Islamic Da’wah and Leadership Training Program, Leadership Universal College, Brisbane, Australia, Bangladesh Chapter. Earlier, he held senior position at Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (https://islamicfoundation.gov.bd). He voluntarily serves different non-government organizations like Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought, International Institute of Islamic Thought, USA, Bangladesh chapter, Center for Alternative Development Trust, Rakhsaani Trust, Committee for Alternative Development Foundation, Imam Bukhari Trust etc. He frequently attends in popular TV channels and digital outlets namely NTV, Jamuna TV, Channel 24, BTV, Bangla Vision, ATN News, Nexus TV, Channel 9, SATV, Pan Vision, Kids Creation, Dawah TV, Universal Vision, Islamic TV USA etc.
He is also professional trainer of the faith-based teaching, Islamic upbringing, peace and tolerance. He has been covering almost all the aspects of human and societal fabric as a resource person. He has got numerous numbers of publications in the national and international peer reviewed journals. He travelled a number of countries of the world to attend meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars. His thoughts were published by 10 books and a series of publications are in the pipeline.
