It was quiet afternoon, I decided to take a walk in the park to enjoy the cool breeze, the sun was warm, and children were laughing as they played on the swings. Birds chirped in the trees, and everything felt peaceful.

As I walked, Something caught my eye, a red balloon, stuck in the branches of a tree. Its string hung down, and, at the end of it was a small piece of paper. Curious, I stopped and stared at it. The balloon Swayed gently in the breeze, as if inviting me to come Closer.

I stood on my toes and reached for the string, but it was just out of my grasp. Looking around, I spotted a stick nearby. I picked it up and used to pull the balloon down. The string slipped into my hand and I untied the note.

The letter was crimpled but still easy to read. I neat Small letter, it said:

“If you find this balloon then write back to me, My name is Sam and I live on maple street. I just want a friend”.

My heart felt warm and a little sad at the same time- I imagined a little kid sitting somewhere, hoping someone would find their balloon, I decided I couldn’t just ignore the note. I went home, found a piece of paper and wrote:

Hi sam, I found your balloon, my name is Alex and I would like to be your friend too.”
The next day, I went to the maple street, and slipped my note into the mailbox with the name sam. written on it. I felt nervous but excited. I wondered if som would write back.

A week later. I got a letter in my mailbox It was from Sam! Inside was a drawing of ‘red balloon and a big smiley face. Sam said thank you for writing back, and he also told me all his favorite things. Drawing, playing outside, and his pet dog named Max.
